• SHAREWARE - US$5
◊ This program is distributed as Shareware: if you use it, you should pay the author. You may register:
- with the bundled Register application, or
- directly to me by sending cash (US$ or an equivalent sum with your local currency) or an international (postal) money order; if you would rather pay using a different method, try the Register application.
◊ NOTE: Getting a note, a postcard or anything else is a lot better than getting nothing. I would like to know how far this program has gone, so remember that you can do something nice even if you do not have a couple of $ to spare.
◊ Registration (obvious) caveats
If you register FaberQuencer, you are not automatically registered to KeyQuencer itself.
If you register KeyQuencer, you are not automatically registered to FaberQuencer either.
You register KeyQuencer by sending the fee to Alessandro, not to me.
◊ But what’s KeyQuencer, anyway?
KeyQuencer (entirely written by Alessandro Levi Montalcini) is a totally cool software that lets you perform complex tasks with one keystroke.
◊ OK, but how do I get KeyQuencer???
ftp://ftp.alpcom.it/software/mac/LMontalcini
If that link is too slow, you may want to resort to your nearest Info-Mac or Umich mirror.
• GENERAL INFO
◊ These are KeyQuencer extensions; to install one, drag it onto your “KeyQuencer Extensions” folder and restart your Macintosh.
• Crash caveat
If you have System 6 and you attempt to install the System 7 versions, your Mac will crash. Just use the System 6 versions, as your mother told you.
• ChoosePrinter note
As you can see, you cannot choose among networked printers (LaserWriters, for instance). I did not succeed in implementing this feature with a couple of quick hacks; QuickDraw GX may even change some of the rules, so you’ll have to wait…
• DISCLAIMER
◊ “No warranties at all, either express or implied…” “All trademarks are held by their respective owners…” and all that stuff.
This software should do no damage, but if it does then you will be on your own. Let me know of any bugs you run into, anyway.
• VERSION HISTORY:
◊ 1.0.2 - ResEdit or some other system component deemed it appropriate to reduce to zero the contents of the help resource in the Unmount extension. Thanks once again to Masatsugu Nagata who promptly pointed this out.
◊ 1.0.1 - Linked with MoreFiles 1.4.1. As a result, the System 7 versions that use MoreFiles are much smaller than before.
◊ 1.0 - Now released separately from the main KeyQuencer package. Besides everything being recompiled with the latest compiler and libraries, now the extensions are available specifically for System 7 (this saves memory) and Shutdown is compatible with the latest Shutdown Delay (another software by Alessandro Levi Montalcini).
